VIRGINIA CROSSINGS RESORT HONORED WITH PRESTIGIOUS 2006 EMPLOYER ALL STAR AWARD

Richmond, Va. May 4 – Virginia Crossings Resort was recognized by the Virginia Business Leadership Network as the top company demonstrating exemplary and innovative efforts in furthering The New Freedom Initiative, a nationwide effort to remove barriers to community living for people with disabilities. The award was presented to Virginia Crossing’s Resort during The All Star Awards Breakfast held May 3rd at the Richmond Convention Center. 

Marjorie Sferra, Director of Human Resources, was honored to receive this award on behalf of Virginia Crossing’s Resort, a Benchmark Hospitality International Company. “Hometown Hospitality” is the heart of the company’s philosophy and culture in over 30 properties here in the U.S. and abroad.  Virginia Crossings Resort has taken great stride to assess, interview and select employees with disabilities to help them in their quest to reach their full potential and lead productive, fulfilled lives. 

This Employer All Star Award is sponsored by the Virginia Business Leadership network and patterned on President George W. Bush’s New Freedom Initiative and the National Recognition Award established in 2002 by the labor Secretary.
